Banff National Park, AB
This is a photo of Mt. Ishbel along the Bow Valley Parkway, and it was actually the first time I saw the sun in Banff National Park. The area had been very overcast the day before and the clouds had been quite thick throughout most of the area, but the clouds opened up just long enough to show the snow covered peak. I was ecstatic that the clouds parted so that I could see the blue sky, and it ended up being one of the few shots I got with constant blue skies. The clouds almost acted as curtains peeling back to reveal the vast mountain behind them. My wife Erin and I even affectionately call it, “Mt. Ermagerhd.”
