Devils Tower National Monument
A sunset in Sundance.
I’ve driven past this scene dozens of times: Devils Tower from the main drag headed out of Sundance, WY. On this particular day in October 2015, I felt compelled to get a shot of the Tower at sunset. At this time of year the sun was pushed over a little further than what I would have liked, but the soft colors compliment the rock formation nicely.
To achieve this shot, I pulled over to the side of the road at a point that’s high enough to offer an excellent view of the Tower and the surrounding landscape. I took care to not make a commotion as a courtesy to the family of mule deer nearby. You can practically breathe in the peacefulness given off by the nature in this shot.
I wouldn’t mind taking in a beautiful October sunset every day.
